Born in Rome, She embarked on her journey into the world of culture and entertainment by graduating in Cultural Anthropology in 1980. Her fascination with human cultures and societies laid the foundation for her incredible career in the entertainment industry.

In 1984, under the initial guidance of two maestros, Enrico Rame and Fulvio FO, she entered the world of theater production as an organizer for major touring companies and stable theaters across Italy. Her role involved not just organizing but also selling the shows they produced. It was during these early years that she also became the Director of Teatro Parioli with Maurizio Costanzo (1989-91).

In those years, Federica played a significant role in the theater world. She kickstarted the company founded by Nicola Piovani and Vincenzo Cerami, for which she also adapted a story by Cerami for the Teatro Goldoni Festival in Venice.

Transitioning into television, she joined Rai and worked her way up eventually serving as the personal assistant to Bruno Vespa during the launch of Porta a Porta. Later, she moved to Mediaset, where she primarily worked on prime-time programs for Canale 5 until 2000.

With the emergence of independent production companies in the 2000s, Federica ventured into this new landscape. She first joined Endemol and later Pearson, where she became an Executive Producer in 2001.

From 2001 to the present day, Federica has worked almost continuously for Magnolia TV, now part of the Banijay Group, serving as an Executive Producer. Her work has led to the creation of numerous entertainment, cultural, and journalistic programs, all of which have been broadcast on major networks including Rai, Mediaset, Sky, and Discovery Channel and in 2013, she played a pivotal role in the realization of the program UNDRESSED for Magnolia, which was sold in 28 countries worldwide.

In 2020, she exhibited her creative prowess by writing a concept for a fantasy series loosely based on Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. She produced a visually captivating trailer for this series, which was released on YouTube in 2022.

Recognizing her expertise, She was invited by the University Suor Orsola Benincasa in Naples to conduct lectures on television production and the feasibility of new formats. From December 2021, she has been leading a course at the University’s Master’s program in Cinema and Television, teaching students how to design television series. Her unique ability to organize and manage teams, perceive the individual professional capacities, assess the feasibility of a project, and translate it creatively and commercially makes her an invaluable mentor.

Currently residing and working in Milan, Federica Baruffaldi stands as a testament to the fusion of artistic ingenuity and business acumen in the Italian entertainment industry.

The Italian Comedy Festival Founder and Artistic Director, Gianfranco Terrin, extends a “gracious and wholehearted welcome“, expressing “his best wishes for her success in her upcoming endeavors”.
