Hailing from a background steeped in musical excellence, Glik’s education at the prestigious Peabody Institute of Music laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Under the tutelage of esteemed mentors like Leonard Reed and Gunther Schuller, he honed his skills not only as a trumpeter but also as a pianist, composer, and arranger.

Glik’s musical odyssey took him from the vibrant streets of Maryland and South Carolina to the bustling heart of California. Forging his path as a self-employed musician, composer, and bandleader, he captured the essence of jazz, soul, and spirituality through his compositions and performances. In California, Glik’s star continued to rise, illuminating the music scene with his multifaceted talent. As a member of Local 47 Professional Musicians since 1991, he became a fixture at iconic venues like the Comedy Store, enchanting audiences with his melodies and wit. His role as a house pianist since 1995 has made him an integral part of the Comedy Store’s allure, adding a touch of musical magic to every performance.

Beyond his contributions to live entertainment, Glik’s prowess extends to the realm of composition and arrangement. With over 200 original songs to his name, he has crafted melodies that resonate with the human spirit, evoking emotions ranging from joy to introspection. As the music director of Ahiah CSL and the leader of the Chris Glik Band, he continues to inspire and uplift through his artistry.

This special evening marks the closing night of the Italian Comedy Festival in Los Angeles, hosted by Italian actor Gianfranco Terrin. Glik’s performance will be a highlight of the event, weaving a musical tapestry that reflects the vibrancy and humor of Italian and American culture.
