The Italian comedy by Max Nardari will premiere on October 6 at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre

After its success in Italy and abroad, Accidental Friends by Max Nardari is set to make its Hollywood debut. The film will open the fourth edition of the Italian Comedy Festival, hosted this year in one of California’s iconic cinema venues: the Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood.

Max Nardari and Marina Suma will attend the evening to introduce the film to the American audience. The actress will also serve as the festival’s godmother and receive the prestigious ICF Honorary Award, a special recognition for her career and her contribution to Italian cinema.

A U.S. TOUR ACROSS LGBTQ+ FESTIVALS
The Los Angeles stop follows the film’s participation in the LGBTQ+ festival in North Carolina, where it was warmly received by both audiences and critics. In the spring, Accidental Friends was presented for the first time in the United States at the Outshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Miami, winning two major awards: Best Film and the Audience Award, confirming its ability to combine comedy with social engagement in an inclusive and accessible story.

DIFFERENCES, GROWTH, AND FRIENDSHIP
The story follows Pietro, impulsive and full of prejudices, and Omero, a young, refined gay man. Forced to share the same apartment, the two initially clash, but soon their cohabitation becomes a space for confrontation and mutual growth. Between humor and touching moments, a bond develops that transcends personal and cultural barriers.

A TALENTED CAST
The film stars Filippo Tirabassi, Filippo Contri, Marina Suma, Rocco Fasano, Beatrice Bruschi, and Daniel McVicar, all directed with sensitivity and rhythm by Max Nardari.

SYMBOLIC FILM FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA
Accidental Friends was screened in Italy at the Sala Caduti di Nassirya on May 17, 2025, as a symbolic film for the International Day Against Homophobia, highlighting the social significance of its message.

ON PARAMOUNT+
On Paramount+, the film quickly reached the top of the platform’s charts, surpassing 800,000 views in just a few weeks—an outstanding achievement for an independent Italian production.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS
Accidental Friends has already won 16 national and international awards and participated in 22 festivals, establishing itself as one of the most acclaimed contemporary Italian comedies for its ability to blend lightness, social commitment, and inclusivity.

The Los Angeles premiere marks a natural step in its international journey: a contemporary Italian comedy that engages with institutions and now reaches a global audience with an original and remarkably current voice.
